picked up a 1979 Sony Trinitron KV5100 New in box
Reccently picked up a New in box Trinitron KV5100 with the manual and all the paperwork for $50 on kijiji.

Oh man!! That was my first color TV. I’d kill for a NIB model! (Well, not really, but you get the picture)
 Lots of great memories with that set, although most of my childhood was spent with B&W, trinitron was a wonder. I kept buying them all the way to the bitter end. Still miss my last one which had a great picture but weighed a ton (almost literally) and we jettisoned it to go “flat panel on wall”. Sad.

A few years ago someone traded me a working one for repair work on a RCA CTC16 roundy.
A few years ago I made an effort to make my first HD set a used SONY Super-fine-pitch HD-CRT set and I've managed to keep using it as a daily driver. Your inuyasha profile picture takes me back.

I am loving this set. Although I think it's pincushion circuit may be going, or it may need a recap job. Holidays are coming up though...

I’m not sure the 5000, or 5100 model had any pincushion circuitry. Don’t remember. I have both models. Does yours have econoquick?

Never mind. Looking closer at the first picture it has econoquick silkscreens on the sun filter. KV-5000’s didn’t have econoquick. I believe the heater had some voltage on it at all time that it was plugged into AC power.

These were a popular "arm" sets in hospitals especially ICU's.
They would mount an SO259 on top & a PL250 on the arm to mount it. This carried 25VAC with the RF riding on it. Inside they added a small 12 V power supply & stripped off the RF. After about 10 yrs most started using 9" Zeniths using the same scheme. They held up well considering years of almost constant use. 73 Zeno  LFOD !
