In order to at least partially allay the doubts, a test photocell with a mica photocathode was made, on which a continuous silver layer was deposited, and in the process of pumping the photocells additionally cesium was applied to the silver layer on the mica.
Attempts were made to oxidize this cesium with oxygen from the decomposition of barium peroxide placed in a special generator. Unfortunately, the obtained photocell sensitivity was not high - the 7.5W "warm" LED bulb at a distance of about 10 cm produced a photocurrent of about 2 microamps at a voltage of 30V on the photocell.
It seems that the photosensitive layer has the maximum sensitivity shifted towards the blue color of the light. It was not possible to control the oxidation of the layer and it can be assumed that the process was not optimal.
