A little update on this unit, I was able to find a remote for it (apparently my friend was able to find the remote for the unit), and I was looking around at a local Goodwill store yesterday afternoon and I found a set of Sony 5.1 Surround Sound speakers that would of been like the kind that one would of bought to go with this unit when it was new back in 1997, so now its complete like it should be now.
Also I figured out the front panel buttons and how to get it into the various different modes, apparently there was a button that I was supposed to hit to get it to change modes that I didn't think had anything to do with switching the unit between modes because of how the button was labeled, so once I hit that button then the VCR/Receiver went into the various tuner and other modes that the receiver portion did.
