15GP22 Sockets

I am Terry who had the sockets and other parts, I donated all of those to Pete and or the ETF, so I don't have any more, However it is the same socket used on the older Photomultiplier tubes. you would have to do a seach online about these tubes and you will be able to match them up with a socket which is the same thing.

Thanks, Terry, that seems to match up with the comments I posted earlier.

Hello Gentlemen,

Helly Wiseguy - Terry, nice to hear from you.
PS: I am the proud keeper of Terry's CT-100 right here in Paris.

For ChrisW6ATV here's are some useful documents concerning the 15GP22 20 pin Jedec connector. Data was Scanned from the C73599 RCA developmental tricolor tube (Lab 15GP22 precursor). Courtesy of Chuck A. & John Folsom Jr who obtained copies from this priceless RCA lab data.

3x already posted documents here:
http://videokarma.org/showthread.php?t=247735

see middle of page 3 of this thread.

I also "followed the trail" to Hammamatsu Photonics. No help there & no reply to several Mails sent to their sales office here in France.

Here is their worldwide site : http://www.hamamatsu.com/

You might have more luck than i did.

Problem was solved thanks to the kindness of John Yurkon who sent me a base - Thank God for HUGE PMT's being used in high-energy physics research.

Hope this helps,

Best Regards

I also got my 20 pin socket from OETECH where John Folsom got his. I ordered some old RCA phoatomultiplier tubes for the male end and they also had a Female socket. Cost was about $80

I did a search and found this company. http://lancosockets.com/

It looks like Lanco has sockets for some 20 pin PMTs but I do not know if they are the same as the one on the 15GP22 There is a diagram on the Lanco site of the 20 pin socket they offer. You will have to figure out if it is the same as the 15G base.

Good Luck

Question time for Bob: so if you knew you could get new bases, why go through all that trouble to reuse the original socket when rebuilding a 15G? Only thing I can think of is originality, am I right?

Just seemed simpler to salvage the original bases. Once I figured out an easy method, it was a no brainer. And the cost is zero dollars too.

Sockets are a different story all together. Next to impossible to find 20 pin sockets.
