GE 25GT320 Manufactured June 1988 CTC130A

Another curbside rescue. Looks like my 84 rca but the cabinet has simulated wood grain rather than silver/gray. Cord was cut so i recplaced it to test. Tries to come on but nothing. From the click of the power button, theres a quick flash on the screen and static discharge from the crt that usually makes your hair stand out when your close to the face of it. Other than that, nothing. I'm wondering what the issue is. No high voltage, flyback?

Sounds like it may be going into shutdown. If you have a variac, try to power it up at about 90V and see if it stays on. If it does, you likely have a voltage regulator issue.

This set uses the same cabinet and chassis as my ColorTrak FMR620WR! Use this partial schematic to diagnose the power supply. Make sure to resolder/reinforce R417 & R506. Open the tuner module and take some pics.

The tuner pkgs on these get tons of cold joints
where the cables come in. I dont remember this
symptom but maybe the on/off line has cold
solder. So resolder first.
Also found on a different CTC130B for shutdow prob
CR406 Zener diode 175424 sub ECG5029A
Since this is not the exact manual I cant guarantee
this is the right thing !

I'll have to dig it back out and check it. Got it in the warehouse with the rest of my boob tubes.
