"One Gun Booster" ???
Hi guys ,
In the bunch of TV repair equipment I recently obtained I found these three devices , labeled "one gun booster" . On a quick look inside the one that the cardboard tube had collapsed on and was easily openable , I saw that it's just a potentiometer in there and nothing more . My question being , would this be used in the cathode circuit or the grid circuit to "boost" that one weak gun ? Were these devices effective , as in would it actually produce a watchable picture from a CRT which had one color weak ? I have of course seen the boosters that raise the heater voltage and know that those boosters would produce a watchable picture from a weak tube but I've never before seen one of these devices . Any and all comments are welcome and appreciated . |
