New To MAME
I'm just in the early stages of building my first full size MAME arcade machine.
Does any one have any recommendations for the best TV to use. I will need a 25" or 27" for my size cabinet. Oh and hi to Dwight. Chris V. told me to say hello. |

I'm not sure, but you might find this multi-part series on building a full size MAME cabinet useful

Use the largest monitor you can afford. You will find many games don't
use the full screen, and in fact some use less than 50% of it. I built mine with a 27" CRT monitor and thats the smallest I'd use if building another MAME machine. Steve |

Here's a problem
Modern cabinets are designed for vertical monitors. Ms Pac, Galaga, Asteroids, Frogger, the majority of classic 80s games did this. Williams had a few that used horizontal monitors...like Defender. But most of them were vetical. In the 90's there was a jump to horizontal. So some games are going to be pillarboxed. I've got customers who have two systems...a vertical multicade machine and a PC based Mame system for the rest of games. Sent from my SPH-M910 using Tapatalk 2
