Muntz 12-track
Anyone ever heard of these? It seems they play 8-tracks as well as a predecessor of the 8-track, the 4-track tape. Note the black Muntz actually has the Muntz symbol on the front but it says "Muntz Stereo - not affiliated with Muntz TV" I don't know who made that all chrome one, it appears as if there was a plate glued on the front that would have said that fell off.
--- The chrome unit is a Muntz too, I found an advertisement for it... Last edited by Adam; 05-11-2014 at 07:46 PM. |

I've never seen one badged a "12 track" before These were sold in the mid-late 60's - Muntz probably had the most tied up in 4-track, so it figures they would offer a dual-format machine.

I have never seen a 12 track before, what I remember was a Muntz 4+4 that played 4 track as well as 8 track tapes. As I remember the 4 tracks sounded pretty good to my you ng ears.
