VK member sent me a PXL2000!!!!!!
A VK member sent me a surprise from Philadelphia .
A Fisher Price PXL 2000 video camera to play with!!! So COOL!! and I remember always wanting to play with one of these but managed to always HEAR of it, but NEVER see one in person...and now I have what appears to be a well loved one, but looks to be in okay shape. All I've done so far is put a bunch of AA batteries in it and see that it does appear to run a 90 minute high-bias tape at high speed in it's transport. I will hafta look for instructions on what exactly comes out of that RCA jack on the back. I suspect it's likely channel 3 RF...so will be easy to find an RF switch like the one I use for the Atari, and feed it directly to an external antenna on any number of my little mini B/W sets. (I'll find the PXL-2000 specific little monitor at some point....but that little "monitor" is really just a rebranded Magnavox Shadow I think). It's beautiful timing....because this would be VERY fun to play with on the Singer TV6U I got going last night. How cool would that be...the pixelated B/W output to a trippy looking little industrial style TV set Maybe I can find a simple "RCA to 1/8" adaptor at a Tandy store tomorrow. It would make that connection look real clean without the big switcher box. Pictures.....as soon as I can get to 'em...DEFFINATLY!

Oh no.....Some mod HELP!!
Please move this to an appropriate category. I JUST noticed it isn't where it belongs. I meant to put it wherever "tape" and recording media was.

Oh wow, I recall someone mentioning one of those here before. Good catch. Recording video on a compact cassette? Never heard tell of that before hearing of this camera. Oh, by the way, get lithium batteries. I'm guessing that this unit would eat alkaline batteries quickly. Also, I have never seen a lithium battery spring a leak.

Seems like I remember reading at the time that there was some fairly clever engineering that went into these little guys.. Good score/gift !

What a score! I have wanted one of those cameras for years (but not enough to pay $eBay$ prices).
