Bypassing Predicta audio

Hi All,

I have been playing my Predicta with the sound being run through my stereo instead of through the BT modulator. It sounds great and I can adjust for best picture instead of the picture/sound compromise. I can also up the RF modulation a little which in the past made too much contrast buzz, which improves the picture further. However, the perfect audio out of remote speakers just isn't right and for me detracts from the experience and the wife said so as soon as I showed her the new setup.

So, what I am thinking is this: If I run the audio through a 1:1 audio transformer and then disconnect the Predicta audio circuit at the volume pot I should be able to avoid the buzz and keep my other equipment (DVD player, laptop) isolated from the hot chassis of the Predicta. Does this sound like a rational scheme? And if so, what impedance transformer should I get?

Thanks!
