Very tiny viewfinder monitor
This came out of a JVC VHS-C Camcorder and it's much smaller than the previous viewfinder tube I found, maybe a half inch viewable area.
I was happy to find out that the entire monitor was on the one circuit board inside the viewfinder, I simply had to figure out the wiring scheme, that was pretty standard, Red-Power, Black-Ground and White-Video. There are Brightness and Contrast Pots on the board. Here are some pictures, the screen close up was done by slipping the magnifying eyepiece over the lens of the camera, the red and green artifacts aren't actually on the screen, it's a crisp B&W image. I posed it next to a #47 Dial Light for scale. |

I love these little things.

Back about 20 yrs or so ago, Fair Radio sent out a flyer where they offered NIB 1EP1s for $10-15, or something equally as ridiculously cheap. I got one-Actually, I think I talked the guy into GIVING it to me, 'cause I'd just bought a bunch of Boatanchor junque. Somebody here or Over Yonder talked me into sending it to them, which I did. I wonder whatever became of it...I THINK the guy told me he was gonna rig it up as a mini-digital clock...
