I say I hated to get rid of that Philco portable because I eventually had it working quite well, but I eventually had reached a point where I had to start getting rid of old TVs and other junk when I moved from my former home (a 3-bedroom house with a basement in suburban Cleveland) to my current residence, a one-bedroom apartment some 30 miles from Cleveland. Oh, well. I guess it was just as well I had to get rid of those TVs, especially by 2008 when all TV switched to ATSC digital. I had moved to my apartment by then (in late 1999), so didn't have room for any more old televisions (except a 19" Zenith color table model which I kept, and which still works last time I tried it). I've liked Zenith TVs, radios, and hi-fi gear for decades; this is why. My Zenith 19" color portable has given me absolutely no trouble whatsoever from the beginning, which is more than I can say for some other TVs I've had. I cannot use it any longer due to the changes in TV standards ten years ago, but I still like the set well enough (because it is a Zenith, of course) that I want to hold on to it as long as possible.
