Found a Zenith 5" from 1981
August of 1981 to be exact.
This little set's in fairly decent shape, nothing broken, just dirty and the usual wear on the chrome and paint. I was able to power it up with a wall wart I found at the store but I don't seem to have one at home that works, guess I should have got that one but it was 10 volts and I think this uses 12. The battery compartment was empty and clean except for a single AA battery used to run the digital clock, it had been in there since 1981 I think and had leaked, it cleaned up well though with minimal damage to the terminals. I looked at another one of these on eBay and it doesn't have a clock so it must have been an option, I think it can be used as a clock Radio/TV as well, the AA battery also provides power for a Dial Light on the clock, that function works too. I'm guessing this was made overseas somewhere (It looks Panasonic-y) or did they build them at home? |
