I have often listened to music from other countries and in languages I don't
understand.... Mostly from my short wave listening days..... Today most
of the Glam metal bands I like, sounds of the late 80's are based in Finland,
Norway, and even some from Japan which I see only singing in Japanese
on NHK World tv, which ironically has several MTV style music shows... Same
for Arirang tv here from S. Korea, which shows a lot of what is known around
the world as K-Pop.... So YES I do like listening to music in other languages.....
As for yours, I'll have to check it out on my old Win-98SE box, I think it has
real player on it.... I haven't used RP in over 10 years.....

My gf is japanese, loves to play music, thus I "listen" to a whole lot of japanese language music. Some of its not bad, there was even one band i really enjoyed. But when im alone in my "shop", the garage, youre only going to hear 60s and 70s, american, rock and roll playing in there.

Indeed! Afro-Cubism is quite good, as well:

Afro-Cubism is World Circuit's dream project - the original intention for Buena Vista Social Club was a stellar collaboration of musicians from Mali and Cuba.
Now the original plan has finally been realised with first-time invitees Cuban singer/guitarist Eliades Ochoa and the Malians Bassekou Kouyate (ngoni) and Djelimady Tounkara (electric guitar) joined by Eliades' Grupo Patria and Toumani Diabaté (kora), Kasse Mady Diabaté (vocals) and Lassana Diabaté (balafon).
I actually heard Afro-Cubism first, one morning on NPR... this led to my "discovery" of BVSC... Wow! great music.

A favorite from BVSC:

From all the Anime I've watched I've come to like some of the music used for the intro/outros.

There is also the random German version of an English hit such as '99 Red Balloons', or the Beatles 'I Want to hold Your Hand' that ain't bad.

99 Red Balloons was originally in German and called "99 Luftballons" , the English version was released later.

I don't care all that much for songs in a language I don't speak (that limits me to English), there are probably a few exceptions that I can't think of right now.

That would be Marlene Dietrich. That's the German version of Pete Seeger's "Where Have All The Flowers Gone?", from 1961.

Lou Monte made a lot of novelty songs from traitional Italian songs in half English and half Italian.
Al Martino's songs in Italian are great too.

Autobahn by Kraftwerk, fine German driving music for a 1974 Capri.

If any AM stations decide to try out a music format (cause their ESPN deal is being negotiated) during the holidays, Feliz Navidad is played.

Hearing only certain kinds of Latin music especially with horns, It takes me back to age 5 riding in the 64 Chevy in south Texas in the 1960's
