Sears Cartrivision

Anyone out there also have a Cartrivision unit?
Here's mine awaiting restoration. I have the camera, microphone and a box of tapes.
It's my project while on very-long severance from my television engr job.
TV works, player does not. Your experiences?

We sold Admiral as a second line. Never sold or saw one.
The parts were listed in the parts catalogue til Admirals
untimely death.
Yours looks like its Warwick built but the decks must all
be the same. I think one or two other small TV co's sold
them also, maybe CM ??
An interesting & rare part of TV history..........

Indeed a Warwick set. I've seen one Admiral unit here in Chicago.
Packard-Bell, Admiral / Emerson-DuMont and Sears-Warwick marketed.
Finding someone to chat with regarding repairs may be futile. I may be on my own but then again, I did repair Beta, U-Matic, VHS etc in my past so I will get by somehow.

I'm green with envy. Those machines are VERY rare.

The only person I know of with a working deck is this guy... http://www.labguysworld.com/

You could say that what you have there was the very first "TV/VCR Combo".

Back in the late 1970's, there was a guy local to me who was selling the VTR units as chassis, and the tapes. He must have got a surplus close-out on them. These were skip-field units.
