AKAI AV-U8 Receiver with TV Monitor

I passed on one of these at the Thrift last weekend, I didn't need it and it was somewhat cosmetically challenged, it's also not really a TV since it has no tuner, if it had been minty I'd probably have picked it up.

It seems to be an amplifier and video switcher with a built in B&W monitor circa 1983.

I had one of these ages ago. I think theres and old thread I posted about it somewhere (it was probably audiokarma back then). It's a basic 20W per channel amplifier built around an STK module. On the video side there is switching for a couple of sources and vcrs, a 4" B&W monitor and an RF modulator.

I guess the idea was to use the built in monitor to keep an eye on another source while dubbing/recording, but it was probably more of a gimmick than any real use.
