1974 RCA 5" b/w TV + clock radio

The flip clock and radio worked as found. But the horizontal board (the one to the left of the CRT) was loose inside the cabinet, and the sockets it plugs into were broken in two. I found the pieces inside the cabinet and glued the sockets back together. Then the TV mostly worked, but the picture kept going blank. At first, I thought a dirty tuner. But it turned out one of the sockets the IF board (the one the neck of the CRT goes through) plugs into was starting to come apart and that board was loose. After gluing that one together too, the TV almost worked. But I still had a jittery picture, and black lines across the screen. I had to do a bunch of resoldering on that horiz board, and now it works good. The shaft on the VHF tuner knob is broken, but I think I have another one somewhere...

I have this exact set, but it's completely dead.

Cool set. I don't think I've seen anything like this.

The sockets are probably the same as the XL100
uprights. Used to crack especially on the 17" vert
board. That would burn & wreck the board.
Good little set, seldom seen.

They also made a 9" version of this set. I've never seen one.
