Well I have a bid in on it but I only know that it's a projection set.
Anyone know what CRT it uses?

I doubt it's worth much, no point in any of you bidding

Could be the TV part of an 800B AM/FM/SW record player TV system. Maybe "Penny Owlsley" was the style of cabinetry-or the original owner's daughter. E.H. Scott stuff was largely all custom-made, so who knows. I'd STILL like to get a cabinet for my 800B system. -Sandy G.

Its a Scott Model 6T11. It uses 3NP4 CRT. I also have a 6T11 and the SAMS Photofact for it. There is a picture of the Scott 800BT at http://www.radiodaze.com/Scott-800BT.htm

Yep, a Scott 6T11. Mine is badged Bissell-Weisert which was a Chicagoland music store. I have read that Scott used Bissell-Weisert to close out merchandise and let them badge them. I suspect that Penney-Owlsley was a local store of some sort that got the same deal from Scott. The Scott plate on the back still has their name and model and serial numbers.

The tube is a 3NP4 and it is part of a Norelco projection system. 1 box has tube ,Schmidt mirror and corrector lens in a folded system and another had the sweep and hi-voltage supply. This was used by several manufactures in projection sets and the Norelco Duo-Vue console where you put a direct view set on top of the box and the projector projected out the back of the box to a screen on the wall. I modified one of these Scott's with a Col-R-Tel color convertor in the mid 50's but the brightness was low. The TV chassis as I recall was a pretty good set and I believe it had a chrome chassis like Radio Craftsman but I don't remember much about it. At the time it had a very large picture in a nice small box. It was way ahead of it's time.

Googled and came up with this: "Penny-Owsley Music Company on Wilshire Boulevard" in Los Angeles.

Has anyone restored one of these recently??

I always thought restoring one of these would be fun. Does set produce picture with decent brightness. Is a 3NP4 special purpose tube only for projection sets???? Some info Please!!

Final price seems to be in line with previous auctions. The last one on the bay sold for $788.00 in 2003 but it was restored. A mahogany unrestored one sold in 2002 for $450.00.

This all there is to the unit. The screen folds down and it bacomes a nice, compact package.

It looks darn near mint in the photos.

A local collector friend bought this so perhaps I'll get to see it in person sometime.
