sony betamax
Ok long story about how i ended up with this made short. yesturday I was at the good will looking for a cheapo dvd player and some how the say out a very large stereo wollensac reel to reel palyer that i instantly decided i had to have but they also had this tank sony sl-5000 betamax player but i could not get it so I hid it somewhere where no one would look behind a 20 inch crt tv since last time i saaw a tank like this it was gone by the time i got back to the store.
ok not that i have bored you wit my messy post here is the question where are the sensors for when you put in the tape so I can check the basic functions befofre i buy a tape a.k.a. i just want to make shure rw ff play and stop work? starange my mom approved of the tape player and even asked if we could keep it in the living room to listen to a box of old tapes she inherited but she will not let the take player be in the living room... sorry about the messy post im kinda tired... I think there is a pin in the cassette area that gets pressed down when a tape is inserted; maybe two of them (the second one determines if the record-protect tab was removed). The captions/PCM switch was used with an external digital-audio recording adapter, and apparently affected closed-caption recording as well.
