ZTO R-3000 needs repair

Hi, all,

I found a Zenith Royal-3000 Trans-Oceanic at a local thrift store. Looks in decent shape cosmetically, battery terminals look clean, but I put 8 "D" cells in and it doesn't power on. Battery box wires are attached. Do any of you repair these for $, or do you know of anyone who does? Looks too complicated for me.

Thanks in advance,
radiodayz

If it has plug in transistors remove them, put a few drops of cleaner
in the sockets & put them in & out a few times.
Do one at a time & be careful to put them back the same way.
We had a few come back to life by themself. Traced it to dirty sockets.
Thats about the only easy thing you can do.
