Does anyone repair NEC PM-1971A Monitors?

I am looking to send off my 1986 NEC-PM1971a, 19 inch monitor to have it repaired.I Have had no luck in finding a schematic or parts or someone locally that wants to attempt to repair it. The monitor was in storage for several years. when its turned on, it just flashes then goes into hv shutdown. We narrowed the problem down to an issue on the flyback transformer. It came out of an expensive piece of Las Vegas Gaming equipment from the 1980s which is out of business. Let me know if anyone here can help point me in the way to have the monitor restore or recycled as this monitor was specifically designed for this piece of Las Vegas gaming equipment to work properly. OK this changes the story for the better ! Me & probably most others
thought it was a computer monitor. It is NOT. This is the type set you
would find at a TV station or some other production place that uses VTR's
& Cameras. There is NO computer input like TTL etc. Strictly good
old fashion NTSC. Depending on how it hooked up you may be
able to hook almost anything to it with just some adapters. If it
uses the VTR input that is probably an industry standard & no big deal.

More good news. This is just an NEC TV set without tuners but with
the jacks added or changed to industrial stuff. Most of it is probably the same
as the "normal" consumer TV with tuners. For a manual look for NEC 19" sets & compare the main chassis. The important things will be the same.

Flyback transformers ( FBT's ) often went bad on NEC's. They would burn
through & arc to ground. Back then cheap subs were avaliable BUT the
pix wasnt quite right & you had to do a little physical mods. If it is
arcing pull the old FBT & get the numbers off it. If someone has one they
will be VERY HAPPY to sell it. Try to find the OEM first.

Zeno, Thanks for that information. The Screen has excessive burn in , so what are my options to have another unit to work on these connectors? I appreciate your reply and want to pay someone for their services to help me get this working again. Thanks

Show us how it was hooked up to the unit. If hooked up to the
VTR you may need to make an adapter to run it on a regular
TV set. Someone may pipe in on that. If it used the regular
2 or 3 cables to run it you need BNC to RCA adapters.

Screen burn in can only be fixed with another CRT. I would guess
an NEC 19" from the same era will use the same one.
In any case show us how it was hooked uo to the game with pixs.
We can take it from there. Remember the more info you give the easier
we can all help.

Zeno, As far as i know , nothing hooked into the VTR on the top left on the rear of the monitor . The plug underneath it hooked up plus the video in and Video out plugs only as far as i know. But i have no idea if the unit supported those functions in the main programming as the video from the TV was being fed from a Laser Disc player which i thought was the original problem but it worked fine as i tried it on a computer monitor .
