I repaired many Panasonic (especially G chassis ones) SMPS. Once you do get the parts replaced (from a rebuild kit), the service manual will tell you to put a number of resistors across the output to give it a load. Without the resistors, the 33 volt (I hope I remember that right) zener will be overvoltaged and short, killing the semiconductors you just replaced. It is very helpful to slowly variac that one up and monitor the voltages. It the 33 volt zener voltage starts getting close, there are more bad parts! The first few were frustrating!
And if you do a "G" chassis, you had better do the locator switch mod or you will burn the thermal fuse on the solenoid out again!
What fun!!!!
