RCA Flyback on eBay

One with the socket on top.
I don't think it's NOS though, it looks used to me despite the box.

mmmmm I cant taste the sweet flyback smoke already. That is what you call putting the old one back in the box. That number is not the ctc17-35 one anyhow, it could be the ctc38.

Well, there's not a lot of drippage on it..may have been a good pull. Is that a clone transformer (Stancor) next to it too? I'm not sure of the numbers..

The Stancor might be new. The RCA looks used. The 119834 is for CTC24,31,38 .

Does anyone know if Thordarson made a FLY# equivalent to RCA# 109221, used on the CTC-10, 11. Nothing listed in my 1964 master catalog.

Kevin, A FLY-281 is the replacement listed for your RCA 109221.

Thanks. I guess I need to find a newer catalog. My 1964 ends with FLY-254

Keep in mind that Triad made replacement flybacks and yokes as well - sometimes they are way easier to find.

I wonder what the difference between a CTC-31/38 and CTC 17-28-35 etc. flyback would be? I know both of these groups used different chassis (CTC 31/38 were cheaper) but it seems like the horiz/HV setups seemed almost identical. Was it maybe windings for the AGC circuit or something?

By comparing the sams, its usually the way the secondary windings are set up for things like centering controls, focus control style, boost etc. It could be something as simple as the 38 went to a solid state focus rectifier and didnt need the filament turn.

You know I have successfully put Packard Bell flys in RCAs etc.

Good chance they are interchangeable with a little work, its just about sitting down with the sams for both sets and figuring it out.
