I believe Fonovox was the US export line of the German Loewe Opta radios and Magnet was the model. These are nice sets and surely it should not just be thrown out. I believe they had a Magnet model from the early 50's right up thru the mid sixties maybe even longer. There is usually a number that would be helpful in determining the year. I like the case styles of the mid fifties models the most myself. The model is roughly low mid class in their table radio line.

I can't help much as far as information; but, please don't toss it! If you decide not to mess with it, try to find a collector that can get some good out of it.

Definitely early 1960's. I love these sets, always wanted a clean one. Very good sounding and beautiful cabinetry. Nice reception. Made by Loewe-Opta in Germany.
