Hey that kid ties a knot in one lead of the zip cord to identify positive just like I do.

Solar is nice, I have a 3 amp 15 volt folding panel that folds up into a book that I take to run my toys when on backpacking trips.

I too, often knot the positive wire to identify it.

If ever I have to identify one wire from others that are identical be it a positive or any other wire, I first examine each wire carefully under a special microscope that takes special micropscope photos called a photo-scope. Next, I take special microscope pictures of the microscopic details of each wire and while taking mental notes of the differences the naked eye could never see, I write down those differences on a special card catalog system that I use for organizing everything from A to Z. Then, I verify what each wire is with a multi-meter and write those findings on the corresponding card. After that, I enter the info on my personal computer system, so, I will always be able to know exactly what wire does what. I prefer to eliminate any guesswork when ever possible. I thought of tieing a knot in the wire but I hate to put wrinkles or bends in anything unless a specific purpose demands such.

If the wire is too thick or short to tie I put a zip-tie near the loose end to designate it positive
