Hartwig's was a popular spot for UW-Whitewater students in the '60's & '70's. When your girlfriend came down for the weekend you'd dine her at The Fireside in Fort Atkinson, and then take her up to The Gobbler for the rest of the weekend.
UW-Platteville students took their girlfriends to Dickeyville for the weekend where you could get a motel room with a waterbed for $22/night. Remember the early '70's? A waterbed store in every shopping center. Now you rarely hear of them. . |
