Arvin 37R68
I bought this Arvin radio today from my son who picked it up at a local antique shop a couple of years ago. He shares my interest in vintage equipment....especially stuff made here in Indiana where we live. This radio is was made in Columbus, IN in the early 1960's believe. It is in very nice shape cosmetically and still sounds decent for its age. My son used some Watco rejuvenating oil on the solid walnut today and it looks nice on my shelf in the living room.
I am glad to have found other like-minded folks who enjoy preserving radios, cameras, audio equipment and things I have yet to discover on this great site. The sad part is the days of making quality equipment here have came and went. I do take some comfort in sharing in the rich history with my son. We have a lot of fun with the research, cleaning, repair ...and especially...in using this stuff. Mark |
