I think, I remember seeing that picture somewhere years back. It was probably built by some off-the-wall designer. |

Probably Irish as my mother used the term. When she got pissed she
would run around the house yelling "wheres my swishy stick". If we were lucky she didnt find it. Grand Pa was worse. One nite my uncle cam home late & hid under the bed. He couldnt find his shellelagh so he attacted him with a rake. The weapons of choice for the Irish were shellelaghs or the shod foot. 73 Zeno |

In Milwaukee, the only Zeno's I met were Polish. My paternal Grandfather was Irish, hence my last name, "Nash". |

Did she used to be a Catholic grammar school nun? They used either rulers or blackboard pointers to hit us kids...

No but Ma's aunt was. Sister Frances Leo. A real sweet heart.
She was a cook & a good one for being Irish. A good lesson in immigration. Grand Pa had to sponsor her. If she committed a crime or stopped working she would be sent back at his expense. Way thing should be. Swishy stick A.K.A switch was a thin green stem abt 3-4 ft long. It could wrap around you & sting like hell. Father was good with the belt. Knew just how to use it without leaving a mark. I would take the belt any day......... 73 Zeno |

The first assistant principal at a local high school was a nun. The place was just levelled, good riddance to ugly rubbish. |
