Sweet GE Doc Find!

For the early 50's GE owners out there, this will be of some interest. I found off eBay a service book complete with complete service data for many GE TVs, including my own 16T1 - for which I had only found a sucky copy of the SAMS for.

The booklet for each model ( about 15 to 20 pages) of detailed design info, control adjustment procedure (with discussion of interaction), alignment procedures with very detailed curves and pick off points, and troubleshooting guide with specific refdes for the part causing the issue. Is there more? Yes, annotated schematic with expected waveforms, a clean schematic, notes on factory changes and a detailed parts list. These things are awesome!!

So, there is info for the following TVs:

805, 806, 807, 809
14T2, 14T3, 14C104, 14C102
16T1, 16T2, 16T3, 16C113, 16C116
19C101
(prelim.) 19C105, 19C106
10T1, 10T4, 10T5, 10T6, 10C101, 10C102
12T7
(prelim.) 17C110, 17C111
(prelim) 17T1, 17T2, 17T3, 17C103, 17C104, 17C105, 17C107, 17C108, 17C109
(prelim) 17C110, 17C111
(prelim) 24C101

If there is enough interest, I'll try to scan and post to whatever archive VideoKarma uses...if there is little I'll respond to specific scan requests individually.

I'm tossing my crappy SAMS sheet now that I have this. I've also got to say that the model year 1951 had some nice understated designs...

Nice find! I'd love to have a copy of the 806 service info.

The Early Television Foundation has an archive with scans of many early TV service docs:

http://www.earlytelevision.org/tv_sc..._diagrams.html

You could contact them to see about adding some of these.

I haven't seen GE factory docs before, but I know that RCA and Philco factory manuals were often high quality -- detailed and well organized.

I have a nice Wallace Telaides spiral bound schematic book that is 109 pages of great schematics. Four pages of 806! It just says 1946-1954 and notes that Color Model 15CL100 is included. Original price was a whole $2.50! I once posted all the neat repair literature and schematics in the classifieds here, but I never got rid of much. I have another one of these for Emerson.

I'm interested in the GE 805 docs.
I have a GE 805 and would like to know more about it.

Wow - looked at that ETF page, and found that the Rider sheets on the GEs are essentially the GE Service Manuals with a border and "John F. Rider". added. Bob and Carl - I'll check my documents to see if there is anything additional to what is already posted there and let you know.

I can do the same for the others that only have basic Photofacts - scan and send to ETF for posting.

Thanks all!

To the 805-806 fans,

You are in luck - the Rider manual here: http://www.earlytelevision.org/image...-rider-tv3.pdf

is essentially the same as my GE document - with only minor changes in formatting and the removal of the very basic 'Picture Defects' section that essentially is unkeyed to any component defects or specific circuits, just a very general 'adjust vertical linearity' type of recommendation.

If anyone wants the Wallace Telaides book that I mentioned, shoot me an email. gnevinsATkimbanetDOTcom. This is an original 1950s book in great condition covering 46-54 GE models. Extra large pages make schematic interpretation easier than some of the "folders" that I have dealt with.

Hi Bill, I sent a pm a few days ago. Just wondering if you received it.
