Older Trinitrons do use safety glass, it's just sealed better than that of other sets. I was disposing of a used-up 520KB22A CRT with some from other sets a while back, so after airing them I smashed them up more than usual to make the load more manageable. A few good strikes with a heavy object will take care of most CRT faces but the face of the Trinitron CRT just kept cracking like a car windscreen so I eventually gave up on it.

Sealtest, can you identify the board and/or resistor number from the board silkscreen on it? I have a Sams 1627 folder 2 schematic that is for the KV-1920A set. Is your chassis SCC-100A-A? If I can have you check I could probably identify your resistor size for you. I would do some ohm checks. You look to have a short somewhere.
