Late '80's Sony KV1365
Someone gave me this fairly beat up Japanese built Sony KV1365 13" Trinitron color TV that had a nice picture; but, not one bit of sound. After doing some troubleshooting, I found that two transistors in the audio circuit were shorted and an 82 ohm resistor was open. After replacing these parts, we now have good audio.
This is a fairly basic non-remote mono TV that has a green LED channel readout and buttons for direct channel entry on the front of the TV. Surprisingly, this TV does have A/V input jacks. A while back, I had a similar looking TV that had side mounted stereo speakers, remote control, and A/V input jacks. I ended up letting my friend sell it at his side of the road yard sale. Here's a video I made of the repair of this set: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1275OI38DQg
