Equinox Mold Putty

jeyurkon kindly sent me this Equinox molding putty a while back. I'm hopping to use it to create a mold for the missing section of my Motorola 9T1 cabinet.

More info here: http://www.smooth-on.com/gallery.php...9lqc54hd6a2i70

First, I tried it out on some knobs. I have two wooden knobs that are missing the center insert and I need this Motorola knob in gold for a 7VT2.

This stuff only has a pot life of 1 minute so you have to work really fast!

The first attempt starting setting up before I could press the knob into it. The second wasn't mixed thoroughly enough. The next two attempts work out well

Now that I have the molds, I'm not sure what to use for casting resin. Any thoughts ?

I baked the molds to remove water or other volatiles.

The silicone seems to cause epoxy, if it's pourable, to form bubbles on the surface if you don't pump on the epoxy first to de-gas it.
