On IF Stage
Did any company ever build a TV with only one IF stage. You know Muntz wanted to do it, but was anyone successful in really doing it?

Pay no attention to the title. I meant to say One IF Stage.

I think Olympic offered a portable with such an IF system. I vaguely remember reading about it in a 50s electronics magazine.

Yes, several Olympics. Looking at the Sams, they used the same chassis with the same tube socket cut outs, one version filled 1 socket, another 2, and a "deluxe" version used all 3 socket locations.

At least it had a power transformer! That's the area they could've cut corners on, but they didn't! |
