resistor question

hey guys i have a 47meg and not sure of the watts resistor its orange color and 2 inches long and its in the flyback- focus area. does the length indicate or where in the circuit tell the watts it is. the schematic only says 47 meg.i can get a 50 meg 2 watt resistor but dont know where to go now.i just found out that if the horiz ocillator stops it could burn what is burned in this set 2 resistors and focus coil, besides a horiz tube that would make the horiz circuit stop, any other ideas what could make this circuit stop, its a ctc15, please..... also the horiz phase detect dual diode had a cold solder joint where no contact was made, would this be enough to halt the ocillator?

Most SAMS folders have a list of components listed in the folder. Are you just using a schematic or do you got the whole folder?

it has this list of components but dont list that resistor because it comes with a new flyback, besides i did locate the resistor from moyers in pa he said hes got the original but now i am looking into why this happened, all 3 horiz tubes test bad but i dont think thats the sole cause.i think the diode may be the culprit.

If you have a multi meter that has the diode fuction on it, you can check the diode. Disconnect it out of circut, put your meter on diode setting, put the leads on the diode leads, then switch the meter leads. You should have a reading one way and no reading the other way.

well yes i did that already and the diode is good and it was replaced already befor but the chassis was never taken out they just clipped it and soldered another in place and the joint was bad, the center leg. and a few other caps had the same problem where if you move the component or bump into it the solder breaks.
