Tektronix 512

Recently picked up a Tektronix type 512 oscilloscope. Has anyone had any experience with these? It's a beast! Unfortunately, the prior owner couldn't find the power cord so I can't test it right now. Is this thing worth holding onto and getting working?

The 512 was introduced in 1948, a year after TEK's first scope, the 511, I think I have three 512's, it's hard to remember when you have over 100 scopes.

More information here: http://w140.com/tekwiki/wiki/512

It's a fairly easy scope to restore, lots of room and no proprietary parts. It will have a number of "black beauty/bumblebee" caps to replace.

Thanks Chuck! I recently moved it along to a better home. Hopefully he will restore it to it's former glory!
