Zenith radio cap value, please
First post in this forum, (I think)
A buddy of mine is getting into this radio he's had forever, but I'm no help with this. I've only fixed a couple of things with major help over in Vintage Solid State and Yamaha, and I haven't encountered a ceramic disk marked like this. So what capacitance and voltage? Yes, I've told him to sign up, himself. I hope this will encourage him. Thanks, Steve |

Ceramics especially in Zeniths VERY rarely go bad. Does he have any reason to suspect that it has failed?

I'd guess 22 pF.

What you see is the part number. Almost all Zenith caps start
with 22-####. so its a 22-15 OR a partial number. Usually these caps were double caps with 3 leads. I never had a bad one but have changed them when badly cracked to play it safe. If you put up the model & chassis I will see if I have the manual & get you the value. 73 Zeno |

I sent my friend a link to this thread, and he said that he would take it from there. Seems to me that this is the place to get some needed help. I don't want to tell him what to do too much, though. I've subscribed to this thread, so I guess I'll see if he shows up at some point.
Thanks a lot everyone, Steve |
