My 48-700.....RUNNING !!

These are a couple pics of the Philco 48-700 set I got last week at the ETF live auction..I was told it had been restored electrically and WORKED...

They were NOT KIDDING !!

One pic shows the set at reduced voltage...to "reform anything" that might need it..

The True Grit pic is at near full line voltage..

It's funny, in all my years of collecting, focusing on vintage TV, I've never seen one of them working. That is awesome. Someone put a lot of time into it. That model has proved to be fairly rare, and usually found in rough shape.
You have a real gem there! Enjoy.

That came from my personal collection, which I have been thinning out. I'm glad to hear my 10 year old restoration held up, I hadn't had it playing in about 5 years.

The 48-700"s temporary new home--till I move from here. and ALSO..my new avatar !!

On top of my RCA2000, next to a pair of GE radios, Bottom a Tombstone, top one small table model.

BTW--GREAT JOB..on the resto !!

Believe me...I KNOW what I have. It has been a LONG time coming too !! Till the latest ETF...a 48-700 was ALWAYS one of those sets that just seem to be "just out of my reach"...NOT anymore !!
