Swann Video cam..

Well, it could be video related..

A friend gave me his old cameras when he upgraded his security system.

According to the website, these will only work with a Swann DVR unit..

They are NTSC composite output. HOWEVER, they wont produce a picture on any normal video monitor.. Obviously proprietary..

Is there a workaround to get the video correct, or am i pretty much committed to buying a DVR to make them work?

I remember seeing small cameras on small boards on EBAY, but all i see is copcam cube trash units...

Any help welcome..

Specs for the PRO-A855 imply it's an HD camera, so it can't be just 480i composite.
One thing that comes to mind is the AHD video format which was the rage briefly until IP cameras got cheap. When plugged into a standard SD monitor if it syncs you get a really badly vertically scrolling image. There are however adapters to convert from AHD to composite/VGA/HDMI.
