Excellent work. I can't wait to see it completely assembled.

A couple of questions!
What was that small selenium rectifier used for?
The octal tube base next to the 19BG6 has what in it. I saw one 60 years ago and that set had one that had a neat little perforated metal cover on it.
It seemed to be a surge limiting resistor in it, but a tiny one.

Looks like it is used to create the -150V buss.

That socket is for a Ballast resistor. On this chassis, it was just a piece of wire.

Both can be seen on the schematic below.

BTW, Emerson had drawn the symbols for the diodes backwards. My pencil marks are the correct way.

Regarding the diodes there was a lot of controversy back then over which way they should be drawn. Possibly because of conventional vs electron current flow.

Great job, the tv is just absolutely gorgeous!

IMHO, the reproduction lables might look a bit more natural if printed on off-white paper... perhaps parchment paper?

Have you seen the vintage tv bank?

Thanks guys for the kind words.

The back label is printed on some ivory colored paper not white. My guess it's just the way the picture makes it look.

Wow, Yeah I put a bid in for it. Thanks jr tech.

OK guys I could use some help. I need to make a back for this TV. Does anyone have one of these that could take a picture of the back. Even if you have a different model but the same Bakelite cabinet a picture of that back would help a whole lot.

I've drawn up the outer shape that will fit the cabinet and marked the center of the base of the CRT. But I need an example of the cooling hole pattern.
Thanks.

Also, it's probably good to undersize the back something like 1/16"-3/16" all around the edges that abutt the cabinet so it fits without rubbing even if placed in a humid wood swelling environment and so it matches what they likely did originally.

Right. My first pass will be "full size" with the poster board. then we'll go from there.

Here are a couple of pictures that show how well the back fit after I glued the drawing to a double thickness of poster board. A few holes, the interlock, and the H Size control cut outs were moved about 1/16. Then the overall outside lines were moved in 1/16. Then a final drawing was made. This will be printed off in reverse and glued to the inside of the Masonite. This way there won't be any damage to the outside or visible side of the back.

The back is all cut out. Now onto the labels and interlock mount.
