Tele-King at an antique store

They want $54 for this set, the back is missing, as is some tubes. Tube layout shows that this set uses a 10BP4 CRT.

Any idea if it's worth salvaging? The power cord is also missing, and appears to be in rough shape.

If the CRT tested good I'd buy it for $54, other than that it looks pretty much hopeless.

I'm not set up to restore TVs at the moment (no tester). If anyone near So. Central MO is up to the challenge of bringing this one back to life, I'm eager to see the results.

Do they have any other interesting vintage electronics?

only other thing I've seen there besides vintage military radios, is an AM/FM Zenith tabletop.

I think the electronics would be a lot easier than the cabinet. Like Eric, I'd say most of the value is in the crt. I would want to see that price cut at least in half, though.

You could have some fun with this using a custom cabinet.

I want the Marx wind-up train on top of the TV, like one I had.

I forget what they look like, they're in the booth behind this set. I think they were referred to as "Radiophones"

Nice set, I'd offer $40. but pay the asking price arguably. I am very good at cabinet repairs though.

At 90+ pounds those '390s don't dance so good. Got two myself but prefer the SW-3's much lighter.
