I had a 1077 (updated version of 1076) for years. They're capable of many things, but I rarely used it.
Like most old B&K equipment, it's very reliable and easily serviceable. |

I have one, useful for trouble shooting various systems. I have used it to trouble shoot HV and trace down faulty IF strips. Its a video signal generator with different outputs so if you like trouble shooting using signal injection you will like it. The HV part is just a HV drive circuit that will provide horz grid and plate drive to help narrow down problems in the HV circuit. It also has a pretty sensitive yoke test that checks the Q of yokes and flys, to detect shorted turns.

It's especially useful when working on older 1940s-50s because it can generate 21MHz IF signals. Newer gear generally only does 45 MHz IFs.

Thanks to all
I will look closer at the device I have a 21mc TV on the bench so the IF sounds like it will be useful |

Two versions out there
The newer one has external audio input selectable by the audio switch. Also they use different pickup tubes. The newer one has a sharper image which I think is due to the different pickup tube since the circuitry is the same.
If you have vertical troubles change all the 2.2 Meg resistors in there. You can get patterns off the web, print them on a inkjet printer, then take the print to Staples and have a transparency made. Costs about 50 cents. I have 2 1076's. One old and one new. |
