Help to recognize this element.
Please some help to recognize this electronic element.
I would like to find a replacement exactly the same, but I don't know how to interpret the code that is printed on it. The element has printed 4D-123 51M on it and was pulled out from the input filter in the primary stage of a VWR1200-D switching power supply board in a Pioneer CLD-99 laserdisc. This element is L1 in layout of board. Distance between pins is 10,5 mm x 13 mm. Core length is 20 mm. I am not a technician and this is all the information I have about. What's wrong with it other than some old factory glue?

Hello, unfortunately that is not glue, this is melted plastic. This unit suffered an overheating caused by a short circuit in the switching power board.

That is called a common mode line choke.
The inductance and resistance is not critical. You might find a close enough match here. https://www.digikey.com/en/products/...MaT6GfibiYmJAA The power supply fuse should have blown to prevent this happening. Also more components on the power supply are probably bad now, like the input rectifier and switching transistor(s). |

Its two seperate coils .so if the coils still have continuity ,work on the power supply problem ,if one is open then you Should replace it. Do not put in an oversize fuse. |

I don't know about new, but there are so many that look alike in VCR's and DVD players . That one should still work if you can read about 2 or 3 ohm through each coil and there's a readind the same on the other coil.
