Hello From TN

Been a part of Audiokarma for awhile but now I'm getting into video stuff too so I thought I better hop on here. Here's what I've got so far,a Pioneer Laserdisc player with a few discs (that I don't have a pic of),a 1988 Magnavox 14" color portable (also no pic),A cheap RCA flatscreen is my main TV,I recently fixed up the pictured RCA VCR to watch tapes on,and the last one came in the mail today 1979 Zenith VR-9000w Betamax!

Those 4 head HiFi VHS decks with manual recording level with metering were real nice!
I had a Panasonic that I used for over a decade.

Glad someone noticed the C64,I need to get more pics up here. Just got my Atari 2600 "vader" working so I guess it can be included too. I'm just inside the Chattanooga city limits for those wondering.

I started at McCallie School in Fall '71, In those days, most of the time, you couldn't see the top of Lookout Mtn from Missionary Ridge, the whole town was blanketed w./a smelly, nasty form of air pollution. By the time I graduated in spring 1975, the tables had been stirred up, & while things WEREN'T 100%, they certainly were 1000X from where they HAD been.

Funny you mention Chattanooga pollution since I just got inside from fooling with the truck to try and get it through emissions. I think I've had conversations with you over on AK before,I'm CerwinvegaD9 over there.

Here's some pics of the other video related items in my collection.

I do have both original joysticks for the atari,I couldn't find one so I put the one from my Flashback 4 console with it.

Nooga was a GREAT place to go thru adolescence... The whole place is almost unbelievably pretty..If I had the chance to do it all over again, I'd think hard about setting up shop down there..My Dad had knee replacement surgery there 15 yrs ago or so, the hospital was on the side of Missionary Ridge, I remember walking/bumming around the hospital, & the afternoon sun was shining thru the windows, & it was just so incredibly beautiful. Nooga has troubles-What place don't, but after seeing the scenery again, they pale into seeming insignifigance..

I've lived here my whole life and I have no intention of changing that. Like you said it has it's problems but the good outweighs the bad by a country mile. Great scenery, great (usually) people, and about any place you need to go is within reasonable distance.

If you come down I-75 from Knoxville, you will pop over this one area that has the whole Nooga shootin' match laid out B4 you. You can see everything from Lookout Mtn to Harrison Bay skypark. Tough for "Furriners" to understand & appreciate the grandeur laid out for 'em, over such a small strip of ground..

A Sad Note....According to our own Kent T., a Nooga landmark radio station, WFLI. 1070, went under here a couple weeks back. They had been a fixture of Nooga rock & roll since the Fifties. They were Top 40, but they'd surprise you at least a couple times a week. They had a POWERFUL signal, generally anytime you'd catch their carrier wave, Apparently, all the owners were getting on in years, & none of THEIR kids were interested.

Yeah I heard about WFLI going under. I didn't usually like what they were playing, but at least there was a chance of hearing something interesting. I have a bunch of AM only antique radios and now I have to feed them with a transmitter.

We listened to 'em all the time-this way WAY B4 anyone got the Bright Ideer of havin' a R&R FM station. When they finally built an FM R&R station in the Scenic City, they made it a 4 channel mess. I think in those days, there were only 2 or 3 people who actually owned radio stations in Nooga, & they all KNEW the only way to make money on broadcasting there was by having yr station strictly play nothin' but Southern Gospel.
