It should be a K-chassis deck. Surface mount caps can be replaced. The later AG-1980 has the same problems with capacitors.

K-chassis and G-chassis were both built on the same platform, except the K-chassis used two timing chain belts designed for editing, but they're both prone to surface-mount caps failure. Panasonic's previous two-belt chassis mechanism from the mid-80s didn't have this type of problem.
