Tossed in the dumpster if they don't sell?!? I don't get this. Please pardon my disagreement with this but it would be better if they were stored outside in a shed for someone's future use or even stripped for parts, or given to the Good Will or Salvation army for goodness sakes.

Yep. I didn't see the Silvertone but you're looking at Doug's stuff. As happy as he seems to have been to find it, I still won't speculate on why it's goin' BYE-BYE

Hey guys,

Yep, its me selling all that stuff. Please dont think that Im going to toss those sets! Thats certianly NEVER going to happen if they dont sell!

The only reason I put that line in there was to provoke some thoughts, and persuade some bids. Looks like my little idea was a total flop. Oh well, had to try and see. Those sets have been on ebay about 10 times, at giveaway prices. only Selling SOME sets to make some more room.

Its pretty sad, there has been zero interest in any of the sets, even in the prior listings when I was going on and on about all the work that was put into them to make them great reliable sets. I figure for all the paragraphs of detailed description, it was a waist as there were never any bids. now the auctions are just short and down to the point. I havent gotten to the idiotic "untested" types of discription yet. I'll atleast let the bidder know if the darn thing works or not and how good if it does! Its only fair! I think Im the only vintage tv man in a 300 mile radius of chicago. Immagine if old tvs were as popular as old cars! (we probably wouldnt have these enormous collections then would we!)

Same old problem, we're all too far apart. I'm sure you could find homes for most of those sets among the folks right here if shipping were not an issue....

The monetary value of the old TV's is kind of a good and bad thing for us TV collectors...it is good for when you are buying sets as you can get them for cheap or nothing but when you try to sell them the mass market is not really interested.

I think this is due to the fact that most antiques buyers are dealers looking for something they can re-sell at a profit, or people who want something decorative and fashionable for their home...and right now these sets are not in fashion.

It will be interested to see what the value of the 60's TV's will be in say 15 or 20 years. People like us who have collected them may have the only ones out there...you likely will not see any at garage sales or thrift stores or the trash like you do sometimes now.

Doug, you did a great job in restoring those sets, I'd buy every one of them but am unfortunately too far away to get them.

Like most of everyone else here, it's too far away for me to get. Several of those TVs Doug has listed I would love to have. Especially those late 60's color consoles.

I'm considering getting some of those smaller Black and White sets, I really like that little 67 RCA, and Doug is only 45 miles form my house in Chicago...
