Found out what model was mine: Model 5017 U. By "Grundig". Now where I'm going to find another one at a resonable price?
Funk, and throu all that was an U.S.A. model, it had Long Waves! Last edited by Telecolor 3007; 02-03-2016 at 10:23 AM. |

Curiosity: din anyone seen any german radio for export which could be fitted with a remote control? I've seen one old comercial for a "Grunding", but there where export versions? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr4CSZRVuuo

If it were not for that SABA and some Magnavox consoles there probably would have been no American market audio gear with wireless remote control.

I have a Grundig 2120U which is branded "Grundig Majestic", and bears the US FM band. I've also owned some stuff which wasn't made for the export market, such as a Philips HD-464A radio/phono suitcase set, and an RFT Super 5080C "Teraphone" which was made in East Germany. Oddly, I once had an example of the reverse (sorta), an RCA 67QR53W, which was made in West Germany for that market (not sure why they bothered to brand it RCA, or equip it with US-type tubes).
