Thanks Sandy, I will be back to bother you "old timers" with questions when I get to this project. I may not be very old myself, but my nick name is "old man" Graham.
I have my hands full with school and speaker projects at the moment. In fact I have been cutting MDF all day and it is about time to start my homework. School is sooo much better than working for a living though. |

Anyhoo, it's great to see younger people getting into old Tooob radios & stuff-ever looked at an old TV with Lust in Your Heart ?!? Heheheheheh-Sandy G.

Some things I have found on these models is brittle wiring...you may need to replace wires or encase old wires in heat shrink tubing if they can't be safely removed. Also there is a line filter capacitor that connects to both terminals of the power line and mounts to the chassis....I disconnect this to remove a short or shock hazard.
We had a similar but earlier model in for repair...replaced all caps, repaired wiring where needed, installed new power cord, switch, and fuse and it worked great. |

Thanks for the advice Chad. I look forward to starting this project. I did notice that I will have to fix some of the shielding on some of the wires, or replace the wire.

I'm happy to see someone younger then me in AK I'm 27 and trying to get a philco going aswell I'm still waiting on the caps that I orderd 3 weeks ago
