But a private person, if it had the financial means was allowed to buy for home use a Soundie or Scopitone machine?
The load of the film was automatic, no?
I'm not so eager to buy automatic loading... an 8 m.m./Super 8 projector ruined me 2 films (with me as a kid )

Here is something nice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmfc0IFAYoE
Hmm, I will invest quite a few money into this passion.

Not easily, they were very expensive. The film rental also cost money, not cheap. Not sold to consumers then or home use. You can buy one now and the films if you have the means, but they are going to need repair and maintenance work, same as any other vintage amusement machine. Autoload on a film projector isn't good. Learn how to thread one, learn basic film handling and how to properly splice a print.

Anyone with money could buy anything, or at least rent it. But they were a coin operated amusement machine designed for public spaces. I think even rich people wouldn't want this in their home. With a limited nunber of selections it would quickly get boring. Have a look at the size and design of the machine.

In home entertainment would be more like a really good tv and stereo.

Took a while for me too, they need a real name, and have lots of rules. It's a good forum though.

I took some empty spools from the lady that haves the films. But they don't seem to have good qaulty, because the distance from the 2 edges is not uniform

You never did get onto the film forum, did you? I checked the new members list, and nobody from Romania.

That happens all the time with old reels, they get bent. If they're metal, you can bend them back into shape, but it's tedious. Plastic reels are harder to get back into shape.

I didn't got a membership there.
I hope that the Romanian made projector will deal better with them. Anyaway, at least they where cheap. But a better made ones, with rods going in circle to conect the "rays" that are coming from the center of the spool would have had been better.

I usually ask sellers to put movies onto plastic reels, when I buy them, to try and reduce the shipping charge. I really don't like plastic reels though, because when they get warped, you can't really fix them easily.
