As much as I HATE to admit it, the picture on my 55" Sony we got last fall is outta this world... The 36" Trinitron died a lingering death, it LIKELY coulda been fixed, but wrasslin' that 275-300 LB beast around was NOT something I wanted to attempt. We paid a little/LOT more for the Sony, but I've NEVER gone wrong w/their stuff, & I just DON'T trust a "Vizio", or some other outfit I never heard of.

Can't argue with that really. I was thinking when I last posted that their styling was a total loss by the 1998 model year. 1984 and earlier is my preference though.

Yeah, its distinctive screen styling certainly held on for a long time, my 1987 Trinitron uses the 19" version.
