Zenith 25mc33 Hot Fly
My flyback on Zenith 25mc33 gets too hot after 2 hours. You can smell the wax. Horz output cathode current is good. Changed HV. Reg. and crt bias is not high. Don't know what's wrong. Is this a shorted fly?
Thank you, Perry |

Every shorted FBT I remember gave no raster. If it were the FBT
it should show high cathode current since the H. out would be running into a non resonate circuit. Best test is to totally unhook it & ring it with an analyst. A PIA to do ! Just how hot does it get ? Can you hold it, does it get squishy ? Maybe it just smells old ? 73 Zeno LFOD ! |

You can't hold it after two hours and the wax is soft. Going to try a different 3AT2 Rect today.

I have one extra NOS flyback for my 25mc33, as you well know these are impossible to come by. I'd sell it for 199.00

Thank you but I already have an extra fly. This TV was repaired for a friend. My 25MC33 has a working Horz. Eff. coil but the plastic is broken where it presses into the chassis and is taped up and tucked inside. If you have an extra I could use one.
